Description | ChemR23, also known as Dez in mouse, is a seven-pass transmembrane, G-protein-associated receptor related to the chemoattractant C3a and C5a complement receptors. Although it shows less than 30% amino acid identity to the chemokine receptor family, it shows significant structural similarity. ChemR23 expression is limited to macrophages and dendritic cells. A ligand for ChemR23 has been identified as Chemerin, also known as Tig-2. Receptor-ligand binding elicits chemotaxis of macrophages and immature, but not mature, dendritic cells. |
