Description / AgRP
AgRP, also known as the protein product of the Agouti related transcript (ART), functions as an antagonist of the melanocortin (MC3 and MC4) receptors, both of which are implicated in obesity. AgRP levels are significantly elevated in the serum of obese mice and people.
